Demonstrating your Impact to Win Tenders

This week we hosted our Contract Readiness event attended by 80 people who were all keen to know how they could get the edge on winning public sector contracts to support employability and skills. Below we have highlighted some top tips we made about demonstrating your impact…

  • Ethical Supply Chains – Can you demonstrate that you will use either local or other non-profit suppliers in target geographical area to help retain money within the local economy for social and economic benefit? For example- recruit local people, hire non-profit venues, use environmental friendly printers. To take this one step further you could use the LM3 Model (Local Multiplier Model), to help you to calculate how much money you are returning back to the local economy.
  • Independent Evaluation – If you haven’t already, it might be useful to commission an independent evaluation of your service. During our 15 years of undertaking independent evaluations, we have seen the benefits it has provided to clients, both in terms of improving what they do, and demonstrating their impact to funders to secure future income. It can help to provide a credible, honest and transparent account on the impact of the service, alongside strengths, weaknesses and challenges. The report should also demonstrate how you are taking steps to improve or innovate your service in response to findings. This can help you align to Level 4 in Nesta’s Standards of Evidence.
  • Transparent Monitoring Processes – We would recommend having a good quality CRM (Database) that provides a secure access point to your funder/commissioner to enable them to view the latest performance data on a dashboard. This provides them with real-time analytics on how the programme is performing. We implement Salesforce CRM for our clients, which is secure database and completely customisable to track the outcomes you need.
  • Level of Attribution – Are you are aware of how much your programme has helped a beneficiary achieve their outcomes, alongside other support they might be accessing? For example a young person may have secured a job, but what level of contribution did your organisation play in that outcome? Did you just provide support with interview skills, or did you provide the skills and source the job? This can be a useful way of demonstrating your overall contribution towards outcomes.
  • Logic Model or Theory of Change Model – Can you provide an easy visual representation of your programme. A Logic Model and Theory of Change Model can give you an A4 or A3 visual to append to an application form, to clearly sum up what you do.
  • Origin of Impact Indicators – Can you demonstrate the reason why you measure certain indicators? Is your choice of indicators influenced by best practice monitoring frameworks, government strategic priorities, beneficiary need, commissioner or funder requirements etc.? It can be valuable to clearly communicate the founding principles of your impact framework.
  • Environmental Impact – Practice what you preach with your environmental policy, and actively demonstrate that you care about the environment. You could apply for the Green Mark to demonstrate the good work you are doing

  1. Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to help with Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying
to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good results.

If you know of any please share. Kudos! I saw similar text here:
